เมื่อวันที่ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก จัดพิธีลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงทางวิชาการ (MOU) ระหว่างโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญ โดย ภราดา ดร.อาวุธ ศิลาเกษ ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญ กับ มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก (The University of Otago) เมือง Dunedin ประเทศ New Zealand โดย Professor Jessica Palmer รองอธิการบดี พร้อมด้วย ภราดาพัชรปกรณ์ ลังบุบผา รองผู้อำนวยการ ลงนามเป็นพยาน ในการนี้ได้พาเยี่ยมชมมหาวิทยาลัยและศูนย์เรียนภาษา Pathway and English Language Centre โดยมี คุณ Garry Chronican ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์เรียนภาษาฯ และ คุณ Kellie Bain พาเยี่ยมชม ณ มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก (The University of Otago) เมือง Dunedin ประเทศ New Zealand
ความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่าง มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก กับ โรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญ ครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ ดังนี้
1. เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือในการจัดการเรียนการสอนสำหรับนักเรียนโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญ เปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนได้มีโอกาสไปเรียนต่อที่ มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก
2. เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลและสื่อการเรียนการสอนที่มีความสนใจร่วมกัน
3. เพื่อส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ระหว่างบุคลากรทางวิชาการ นักเรียน นักศึกษา และบุคลากรอื่น ๆ
มหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโกเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยรัฐแห่งแรกของนิวซีแลนด์ ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี ค.ศ. 1869 (ราว 150 ปีก่อน) เปิดสอนสาขาวิชาที่โดดเด่น ได้แก่ แพทยศาสตร์ ทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ธุรกิจ จิตวิทยา สังคมวิทยา ภาษาศาสตร์ ฯลฯ โดยมหาวิทยาลัยโอทาโก เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยหนึ่งในสองแห่งที่มีสอนคณะแพทย์ และเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเดียวในนิวซีแลนด์ที่มีคณะทันตแพทย์จัดสอน

Signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand
On February 25, 2025, the University of Otago held a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Assumption College, represented by Brother Dr. Arwut Silaket, Director of Assumption College, and the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, represented by Professor Jessica Palmer, Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Brother Patcharapakorn Langbubpha, Deputy Director of Assumption College, also signed as a witness. During the visit, we were given a campus tour of the university and the Pathway and English Language Centre, with Mr. Garry Chronican, Director of Pathway and English Language Centre, and Ms. Kellie Bain serving as guides.
The academic collaboration between the University of Otago and Assumption College has the following objectives:
1. To promote cooperation in teaching and learning for Assumption College students, providing them with opportunities to further their studies at the University of Otago.
2. To exchange information and educational materials of mutual interest.
3. To encourage knowledge exchange among academic staff, students, and other personnel.
The University of Otago is the first public research collegiate university in New Zealand, established in 1869 (about 150 years ago). It offers prominent programs in fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Business, Psychology, Sociology, Linguistics, and more. The University of Otago is one of only two universities in New Zealand that offers a medical school, and it is the only university in the country with a dental school.
